At a recent event in Bengaluru, Vidya Balan delighted the audience with her humorous stories. She shared how her comedic posts on social media have gained popularity and expressed her love for comedy in both watching and performing it. Vidya expressed her eagerness to do a comedy film, reminiscing about past female comedy roles in cinema. However, she mentioned the lack of comedic roles written for actresses nowadays. During the session, Vidya discussed how acting allows her to embody various women's lives and how she enjoys the thorough preparation for each character she portrays. She emphasized that body size should not determine one's self-worth.Body image has been a long-standing issue for me. Growing up as a larger girl, I always struggled with how I felt about myself. However, watching The Dirty Picture was a powerful moment for me as it made me realize that self-worth has nothing to do with body size. It was a liberating experience that not only changed my perception as an actress but also as an individual. It taught me to appreciate and care for the body that keeps me alive.

My sister, Priya, is my ultimate role model. She exudes confidence and comfort in her own skin, serving as a source of inspiration and support for me. I admire her articulateness and self-assuredness.

Vidya Balan once said, "As women, we are constantly juggling multiple roles." I believe that women excel in acting because we are accustomed to transitioning between various roles in our daily lives – as mothers, sisters, wives, and more. As an actor, this ability to tap into different aspects of oneself allows for a natural portrayal of characters as directed.

Javed Akhtar once remarked that society shapes films, not the other way around. Films draw inspiration from real-life events, rather than influencing society. Despite the perception of cinema being the moral compass of society, it only reaches a small fraction of the population. The most successful films are watched by just three percent of India's populace.
